I just want to write a quick blurb about a Pasta Alla Vodka dish I made recently. This was another recipe from The Pioneer Woman that I saw on Food Network and just had to try out… especially since we happened to have vodka on hand! The sauce this recipe gives you is a creamy, spicy tomato sauce. The vodka adds a really nice bite, which mixes very well with the spicy result of the garlic, onion, and pepper combination. As you can see from the photo, I sautéed some veggies to mix in. I bought the veggies from Trader Joe’s, already sliced (hooray for the vegetable kabobs!), which significantly sped up the meal prep. Just make sure you allow enough time for the sauce to really cook and thicken. It took me a lot longer than I expected, but was worth the wait since a runny and overly alcohol-tasting sauce just wouldn’t do! Also, I went crazy with the red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper (addition), and was not disappointed!
OH, and how could I forget! I threw in some hot Italian sausage to add even MORE punch to the mix. Watch out!
