How’s that for an alliterative title? Recently, Chris and I have been deviating from our traditional margarita recipe (2 parts tequila, 1 part cointreau, 1/2 part lime juice, 1/2 part agave nectar) to experiment with some new and exciting concoctions. We’ve been trying to make the best use of what we have on hand, and though we usually have some tequila, we often need to be more creative with the rest of the ingredients. Two recipes to share:
Blackberry Champagne Margarita
(To get ready for a sparkling New Year.)
(To keep the holidays going… though this marg turned out to be more pink than Christmas red…)
Is anyone else sad that the Christmas season is ending? I personally feel a bit mournful each year as the holidays turn over. I look around and see our tree (our first real one this year!) still decorated, our new personalized stockings on the mantle, and a stack of opened presents that really need to be put away at this point.
Sometimes it feels like the buildup/the anticipation of Christmas is the most exciting part. How wonderful that life mirrors this expectant phase… we can hold on to the Revelation 21 promise that Christ is coming to earth again because “the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with [us], and [we] will be his people, and God himself will be with [us] as [our] God.” This is so much deeper than gifts–and even more wonderful than time spent with dear family. Our Savior will come for good next time to make all things right and new through eternity!
